La Mesa First UMC has been at the heart of the La Mesa neighborhood for over 130 years. To this day, it remains a place of genuine welcome to all people seeking to explore faith and make a difference in the world. We at LM1 are called to walk beside you, no matter where you are on your faith journey. We believe church can happen anywhere when we choose to live our faith in ways that create real and lasting change in the world; with relevant messages on Sunday reflecting God's grace and love and working for justice and belonging every day of the week when we put our beliefs into action.
Pastor Christian DeMent and the entire team at LM1 welcome you. Together, we will grow in our understanding of God's will for our lives and encourage one another to follow Christ's example through his greatest commandment, to love one another. LM1 worship
ONSITE WORSHIP
Worship onsite in the sanctuary at 9:30 am on Sundays. Come as you are for uplifting worship and a relevant message. Worship is friendly, warm and welcoming to people of ALL ages and stages in life!
ON-LINE WORSHIP
Livestream at 9:30 am Sundays here or on our YouTube channel or Facebook page. You can watch a recording to worship at a time that is best for you after 11am.
SUNDAY SCHOOL & NURSERY
Children and youth are always welcome to stay for the entire worship service any Sunday. Sunday school is provided for kids from kindergarten and above following the Children’s Moment in the early part of worship. Youth are encouraged to worship in the sanctuary on the last Sunday of the month.
Nursery care is provided for toddlers through pre-K for the entire service.
A special "Sensory Sunday School" experience is offered on the first and third Sundays of the month from 9:30-10:30am for children with disabilities, led by a Special Education specialist. Contact Nancy for more information about our "Sensory Sunday School".
