Calexico Neighborhood House
Calexico Neighborhood House is an agency that serves people in need in the Imperial Valley, with special attention given to the needs of women and children. Since 1938, it has been a place where women and children find a safe place, a place of rest, and a place to find a friend. Calexico Neighborhood House provides:
Migrant assistance (food, lodging, transportation)
After-school and Summer meals for children
A thrift store
Housing for homeless women and children
Micro-business support
Diapers for infants

United Women in Faith supports Days for Girls, which is dedicated to creating a freer, more dignified, and educated world by providing easy access to feminine hygiene solutions and health education.
In many countries, girls and young women struggle to regularly attend school. The Days for Girls ministry assists by making certain they each have their monthly sanitary needs met. The DFGM makes reusable sanitary shields and pads to send to girls in counties where access can be limited. Each kit contains two pairs of underwear, two shields, eight liners, a washcloth, and soap. All these supplies come in a handmade, colorful bag that can be used as a backpack for the entire school year.

Earth Care Ministry
You can be an advocate for Mother Earth! That is the belief and action plan for this group of concerned men, women and youth that make up this energetic group, which meets monthly. Climate change, climate justice, alternative power sources, recycling, sustainable nutrition, and the theology of planet Earth stewardship are all on the agenda for Earth Care Ministry.
How can you help? First off, educating our political leaders and community partners is a huge job. We need volunteers to show up to rallies, public displays, and workshops. Second, funds are needed to purchase access to some of these events, like our annual fee for our garden plot in MacArthur Park, as well as educational and graphic materials that raise awareness of the threats that exist to our ecosystem.
Working with other faith-based groups throughout our state, this ministry is raising the alarm about the damage our planet is sustaining, before it is too late to turn things around.

El Nido
As part of the Interfaith Shelter Network, El Nido provides transitional housing for women and children coming from emergency domestic violence shelters.
With the assistance of social workers, participants receive counseling, childcare, employment and educational resources, and transportation services needed to become self-sufficient. In addition, residents offer emotional support to each other and experience less isolation during this stressful time in their lives.

Fresh Start
On the last Saturday of each month, Fresh Start volunteers offer services to those experiencing housing insecurity and challenges making ends meet. We provide a variety of items and services, including:
- Hot Breakfasts
- Lunches and snacks to go
- Hot showers
- Gently-used clothing and new underwear
- Toiletries and other personal items
- Transportation assistance for but and trolley service
- Referrals to additional services
juvenile diabetes research foundation
JDRF is the world's largest nonprofit funder of type 1 diabetes research. The foundation's focus is on finding a cure; until that happens, the advancements being made every day improve the lives of those living with the disease today.
We don't have a cure yet, but JDRF has identified several paths that hold the most promise. They invest in these projects at the earliest stages and continue to fund those that deliver results and turn into breakthrough treatments.

New Entra Casa
New Entra Casa was established in 1972 by the Wesleyan Service Guild, an organization of professional women of the Methodist Church to provide a safe place and support for women being released from incarceration.
The current home on Pershing Avenue was purchased by the NEC board of directors with generous gifts from community members and can serve six women at a time. The program serves pregnant women, parenting women, and women attempting to regain custody of their children. All clients are experiencing substance use issues. They receive individual counseling, help with completing educational goals, job application skills, and reunification with their children and families, all wrapped in an atmosphere of God's love.

You can, if it is part of a Prayer Quilt from Prayers and Squares, the Prayer Quilt Ministry. It is a simple idea with powerful results, but our Prayer Quilts are more than just colorful, comforting blankets. The warmth they bring comes from the prayers that are tied into each knot. Hundreds of quilts have been made for those in special need of prayer. Anyone may ask for a prayer quilt. The only requirement is that the recipient of the quilt give permission for a prayer.

Safe Harbors Network is a broad affiliation of faith congregations throughout San Diego County dedicated to caring for refugees. The network operates at Christ Ministry Center in San Diego.
Safe Harbors Network is dedicated to creating bed capacity for immigrant asylum-seekers and refugees. We recruit, screen, and train a network of congregations, individuals, organizations, and homes who partner with Safe Harbors to provide temporary emergency shelter beds for refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers. In addition to the basic housing needs (a bed, food, clothing, transportation), we assist with legal issues, medical care, education, and language tools to support assimilation, and spiritual care. We keep immigrant families together!

spencer topham foundation camp scholarships
Spencer Topham was a generous, welcoming, fun-loving friend who always fought for equality and human rights. Through attending and leading camps at Camp Cedar Glen, he came to believe strongly in the transformative experiences that can be had there. As a certified ministry candidate and youth leader, he worked towards building prosperous and fair communities of people.
An organizing board, made up of family, friends, and clergy, manages the Spencer Topham funds and awards the scholarships. In awarding scholarships to this camp in his name, the foundation is continuing the work that he started.
